Hello Tenno!

As mentioned during Devstream #183, Operators were originally released all the way back in 2015, which means next year they will be using tech and assets which are a decade old. While we are not promising any changes just yet, we wanted to check with the Warframe Community on what an ‘Operator Face & Head Art Remaster’ might look like to you. This is referring specifically to the Operator and not the Drifter.

  • What do you think would be a 'must-have' in an Operator Face/Head Art Remaster? Would you rather see us improve existing faces or redesign them?
  • Are there any Operator Face/Head customization improvements you'd like to see us make in the future?
  • Do you have any small changes you would like to see that you think would make a big impact to Operator Face/Head customization?

Xaku Prime has arrived, and with it, the last of our hotfixes until Warframe: 1999, which will be released in December!

One important note: during this downtime, the iOS team may continue to Hotfix to tackle performance improvements exclusive to the Mobile platform!

However, with Warframe: 1999, we have some Code Fixes inbound!  For a closer understanding of what “Code” means, our Lexicon for Update Notes will tell you more! For now, some of the resolved issues you can look forward to are:

  • Koumei’s Omikuji will count assists towards its Decree challenges*.
    • This was introduced in UPDATE but was rolled back due to it causing crashes.
    • *For full details on the implementation of this change, look to the 1999 update notes!
  • Garuda’s Dread Mirror blocks Melee Slam attacks.
  • Reinforced Bond doesn’t work for Clients.
  • Inconsistent LOS checks for Acid Shells.

  • Improved the Obols’ texture on the Necra Prime Operator/Drifter Pauldrons & Boots.

Fixes: 

  • Fixed the Necra Prime Pauldrons not attaching properly to other Operator/Drifter Suits causing a large gap in between. 
  • Fixed Battacor’s Sentient Barrage Augment triggering off friendlies (ex: Caliban’s Lethal Progeny summons). 
  • Fixed Xaku’s (base & Prime) Corporeal & Skeletal Auxiliaries missing their description. 
  • Fixed the upper part of the Kaminari Ephemera being rotated incorrectly during and after a Landing Craft mission entrance cutscene. 
  • Fixed many areas of the Infested Ship tileset being unlit. 
  • Fixed the list of items missing from the UI in Varzia’s “Next Offering”.

This Hotfix is such a lil guy because we needed to resolve a script error that was primarily affecting things on the backend (minor to no impact on players). 

Changes:

  • Made the following stat increases to the Quassus Prime (these were intended to go out with the launch earlier today):
    • Status Chance: Increasing from 15% to 18%. 
    • Projectile Critical Chance: Increasing from 30% to 35%
    • Projectile Critical Damage: Increasing from 2x to 2.5x. 
  • Xaku Prime’s top front helmet plate will now move upwards during their Noble Animation when they remove the bottom plate.

Fixes: 
Fixed offset issues with the Alumeti Sugatra when equipped on the Quassus Prime.

  • Updated the Atomicycle’s ragdoll hit effect sound in the Warframe: 1999 Demo. 

Fixes: 

  • Fixed the Mantle, E Prime, Gaia, Mariana, and Lith Earth nodes not appearing in the Void Fissure mission rotation.
  • Fixed Prime Laser Rifle having a wide spread on its first volley after moving.
    • This was due to a bug with its AI, which lent to the wildly inaccurate aiming when targeting enemies.
  • Fixed Kubrow fur disappearing if they didn’t have armor equipped. 
  • Fixed Nidus’ Mutation Stack gauge showing that a stack has been gained at the halfway mark (UI-only issue, stacks were still being gained correctly). 
  • Fixed Keratinos missing a HUD buff icon when its Unique Trait is triggered. 
  • Fixed the Elusive Posture mod preventing Beast Companions with the Scavenge mod from unlocking lockers when enemies are nearby.

Hello again! We’ve got this small Hotfix to quickly address crashes and other important-to-fix issues that came after this morning’s Hotfix #4 release. 

Fixes: 

  • Fixed many crashes caused by squadmate kills contributing to Koumei’s Omikiju challenges. 
    • In order to stop the rampant crashes, we’ve temporarily reverted the change that went out in this morning’s Hotfix that allows squadmate kills to count towards Omikiju challenges. Unfortunately, a proper fix requires code so we will be unable to safely re-enable this change until the release of Warframe: 1999. 
  • Fixed players receiving a duplicate copy of inbox messages that were deleted prior to Hotfix 37.0.4.

  • Fixed matchmaking issues when attempting to start a Steel Path Shrine Defense mission from the Star Chart “Saya’s Visions” node. 
    • Due to the amount of people playing on the node, the matchmaking requests were likely to time out with people filling open slots in the squads before you. This would cause the “Unable to join” popup to occur on most attempts to start the mission. 
  • Fixed Caliban’s Lethal Progeny summons’ Damage and Health Multipliers not scaling correctly.
    • For example, with 200% Ability Strength their Damage Multiplier went from 2.5x to 4x instead of the intended 5x. 
  • Fixed Koumei’s Omikuji Decrees not applying their bonuses when playing in Sanctuary Onslaught (base and Elite) missions. 
  • Fixed Koumei’s Kumihimo threads not applying one of every Elemental Status Effect on a roll of triple sixes as intended.

  • The Relic Reward selection screen will now show the crafted/owned status of the items within the cracked Relics!

    • We intended to ship this with Koumei (as it was mentioned in our September 18 Dev Workshop) but it wasn’t quite working as intended. The Relic Reward screen looks a little different now to accomplish this change. 
  • Improved the Fusion confirmation popup to make it much more obvious that you are using a Legendary Core.
    • This is so that you don’t accidentally consume those precious Legendary Cores unintentionally! If you have since the launch of Koumei & the Five Fates, you can submit a ticket to support.warframe.com.

UPDATE 37: KOUMEI & THE FIVE FATES 

Seize the threads of destiny with Koumei!

Koumei & the Five Fates introduces the 58th Warframe Koumei and her signature weapons, the Higasa and Amanata, as well as a new “Shrine Defense” game mode. Venture into Saya's Fate Dream from Koumei's Shrine in Cetus to protect the Ostrons from the horrors dormant beneath their shores.

Caliban & Nova have both been reworked and are ready for you to revisit them in your Arsenal! Your trusty Companion sidekicks have also received further changes in Phase 2 of the Companion Rework. 

We have also continued on our efforts to improve the New Player Experience Improvements with further changes to Quests and general QOL changes to help new Tenno progress through the game. 

The Caliban Orfeo, Volt Raijin and Nova Aozakura Deluxe Skin Bundles have arrived for a lil of that razzle dazzle. New TennoGen items are also here with creations from Community Artists.

New Player Experience Improvements: 

  • Removed enemy spawns at the top of the ramp before the Aim Glide section in the Awakening Quest to allow new players to focus on the tutorial message instead of fighting them off. 
  • Saya’s Vigil Quest Changes & Fixes: 
    • The pop-up that occurs during Saya’s Vigil Quest instructing players to equip Codex Scanners to their Gear Wheel will now linger on screen until they’ve been equipped. 
      • We want to ensure players don’t miss out on important tutorial instructions that are key to progressing in the Quest. 
    • Fixed being able to matchmake into public Plains of Eidolon squads while the Saya’s Vigil Quest is active - causing issues with Quest progression.  
      • Now players actively in Saya’s Vigil Quest will only load into Solo instances of the Plains of Eidolon to prevent issues from occurring.

Nintendo Switch Specific Note:

  • Fixed two “Fire Manual Trigger Weapons Continuously” toggles appearing in the Accessibility Nintendo Switch options, one of which did not work and has been removed. 

Changes: 

  • Increased the visibility of the in-world VFX indicating the “Lower Security” marked zone in Netracell missions. 
    • Known issue: The zone VFX does not appear for Clients. 
  • Updated the “I Decree” Nightwave Act description to indicate that it must be completed within the same Duviri/Circuit mission. 
  • Now reads: “Collect 15 Decrees in a single Duviri session, or run of The Circuit”

  • Fixed Lethal Levitation’s damage buff not applying to Melee weapons.

  • Fixed players with Auto-Melee disabled getting stuck Melee/Heavy Attacking after Meleeing while aiming using Touch Controls .
  • Fixed charged fire weapons with a Fire Rate of 1.2 or below being unable to release the shot with Touch Controls and continuously looping the animation. 
  • Fixed being unable to fire the Daikyu with Touch Controls while Auto Fire is enabled.

    • Players often shared the experience of squadmates killing enemies that are outside of the marked zone. As a way to address this common occurrence, kills now count as long as players are within the zone (even if the enemy dies outside of it). 
    • This change has also been applied to the “Kill Infested Close to the Cauldron to infuse it” stage of the Cambion Drift Assassination Bounty - now, players are only required to kill enemies from within the circle instead of needing enemies to be within range. 
    • Devshorts watchers may have expected this change with Koumei & The Five Fates update later this year, but this snuck in earlier than planned!

NEW PROLOGUE QUEST: THE LOTUS EATERS 

A strange call comes from beyond and must not go unanswered. 

Concerned with a strange disturbance in the Man in the Wall's domain, the Lotus bids you to investigate. This kicks off The Lotus Eaters, a short prologue Quest that will set the stage for Warframe: 1999 and the battles yet to come this winter.

You must complete the Whispers in the Walls Quest to begin The Lotus Eaters Quest from your Codex.

If you've watched Devshorts #25, you heard us mention that we picked up a few requests at TennoCon that we are looking into. (and if you haven't, you can check out Devshorts #25 here)

We wanted to provide those details in the forums as well, and give you a space to discuss them!

1.) It was brought to our attention that Vauban's Passive (more damage towards enemies Incapacitated by Vauban's abilities) is not able to be utilized against enemies frozen by cold status. We have changed this so frozen enemies can be affected by the passive, and the change will be coming in a future update!

2.) We are reviewing Wise Razor, the Two-Handed Nikana Stance Mod. Our Lead Animator is taking a look to make it flow better.

3.) Uncommon (Silver) Forma Blueprint rewards from cracking open a Void Relic will now give 2x Forma Blueprints instead! Look to a future Hotfix for this change.

Cross Platform Save Changes:
Last month we added a change to Cross Platform Save which affected purchased items on Linked Accounts. Players reported to us that in rare situations, some of the intended items were not being transferred as we said they should be. We have narrowed down the cause of this and included a fix for all future Account Links in this Hotfix. We will be running a script to fix this for any affected players soon and will update the original post once it is completed.

New Player Experience Changes: 

  • Moved The Duviri Paradox Quest as a reward for completing Vor’s Prize to the Saturn to Uranus Junction. 
    • As we continue to add to our Main Story path with Warframe 1999, our team is focused on improving the New Player Experience and removing points of confusion in a player’s journey.
